What is a Research Paper?

Here's what it is:

• An organized statement about a subject, using support from outside your own experience
  
• A paper that gives credit to the sources of your support through proper documentation
  
• A normal requirement in many college courses and professional careers

Here's what it is not:

• A rehash of encyclopedia articles
  
• A mass of invented support
  
• A string of quotations
  
• A mystical, difficult type of writing
