MVCTC Aspire Program Hosts Immigrant and Refugee Round-table series

10/16/2019

On October 8, 2019, MVCTC, Welcome Dayton, Catholic Social Services, and the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce held the final session of the 2019 Immigrant and Refugee Roundtable series.  Over 40 companies and organizations registered for the “Employer Exchange” to have an opportunity to hear testimonials from Economy Linen and Morris Bean about successes and challenges in working with this demographic, reflect on their own company policies and procedures, and complete a S.W.O.T. Analysis for a short and long term goal. Participants also had the chance to exchange information with each other and learn best practices. Some of the short term goals companies discussed were getting documents translated into other languages, reviewing job descriptions for potential barriers, and increasing their connections to local resources and organizations.
