Success Story - Medical Assisting Student Becomes a Registered Nurse

12/10/2015

Being a teacher is a calling, wanting to share your knowledge and passion for a profession with others.  The true reward of being an educator is watching your students succeed and being able to congratulate them on their successes.  MVCTC Adult Education Medical Assisting Instructor, Susan Steck, recently was able to do just this.  Mrs. Steck was invited to the Brightwood School of Nursing RN Program Graduation for one of her 2009 students.

Lindsay (Garber) Shilt completed the MVCTC Adult Education program in 2009. She went on to Pursue further education as a Registered Nurse. She was one of seven students to complete the Brightwood RN Program, which began in June of 2014 with 25 students.

Mrs. Steck shared, "I had the honor of “pinning” Lindsay upon the completion of the Brightwood School of Nursing RN program."

Lindsay is planning to take the RN NCLEX exam soon and pursue a position in a local healthcare facility.

Congratulations to both Lindsay and Mrs. Steck!
