Employer (Sponsor) Responsibilities
As an employer (sponsor) for the School-to-Apprenticeship program you will have the opportunity to improve the skill levels of potential workers, while working with career-minded, committed student employees. You will be participating in the development of the curriculum in the student's program. By being involved in the STA program you will have the opportunity to reduce employee turnover and improve your competitive edge. Read the list below to find out what the employer responsibilities are.
Have a commitment to take an active role in the educational opportunities offered the student.
Actively monitor the student's ability to meet the pace of the program
Sign an apprenticeship agreement or an intent-to-register contract between student, sponsor, instructor, parent/guardian, and STA coordinator
Offer the apprentice the opportunity to learn a wide range of skills on the job through rob-related, technical education
Must be a registered apprenticeship sponsor or willing to become one.
