  • One-year program for juniors or seniors
  • State-of-the-art hands-on lab for career exploration and related study
  • Work-based learning experience requirement
The MVCTC Career-Based Intervention (CBI) program will provide combined educational and work-based learning opportunities for students in the 11th and 12th grades.

The program is designed to help students improve academic competence, graduate from high school, develop employability skills, implement a career plan and participate in a career pathway in preparation for post-secondary education and/or careers.

The program has a work-based learning experience requirement that students must complete. The instructor will work closely with the students to establish and/or maintain employment to meet this program requirement.

Students use our "Succeeding In The World Of Work" textbook, website resources (including the Ohio Career Information System), career specific classroom computer modules, as well as other learning materials. Senior CBI students complete a "Senior Project" consisting of an in -depth career study and research project. Students may also have an opportunity to obtain certifications in CareerSafe, OSHA 10-hour General Industry and First Aid/CPR.

CBI graduates may transfer into selected career programs following the junior year. Many of our graduates attend community colleges or choose a career in a field of interest after their senior year.

There are no College Connections listed for this program.
