MVCTC Offers Summer Camps for Students and Teachers

Student Career Camp: June 4-8, 9-11:30 a.m. each day.

Student Career Camp is for students entering the 8th, 9th, and 10th grades from MVCTC’s partner school districts. The purpose of the one-week career camp is to give students a hands-on experience in various programs to help them make good career decisions. There is no charge for Career Camp but campers must provide their own transportation. Supplies will be provided each day. Teacher Career Camp: June 5-7, 9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. each day.

Teacher Career Camp is a three-day workshop designed for all teachers in our MVCTC partner school districts. Earn One (1) Semester Graduate Credit from Ashland University for $175 – OR – 1.5 CEUs. Lunch is provided each day.

 

The goal of the camp is to:

·Experience hands-on activities in several MVCTC career programs.

·Enlighten teachers on the changes in career technical education.

·Enhance the working relationship between your partner school district and MVCTC.

·Educate participants as to the great salaries and working conditions that exist for career technical students.

STEM Camp: June 11-15, 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m. each day.

STEM Camp is for students entering the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade with an interest in using Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) to think critically and problem solve. Students can choose two programs and will spend a full day exploring these career areas with highly qualified math, science, and career-based instructors. Lunch will be provided each day. Registration for this camp is $50 for students that live in a partner school district and $75 if not living in a partner school district.  For more information, call Cora Ullery at (937) 854-6279. Robotics Camp: June 18-20, 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m.

For students entering 7th - 10th grades, spend three days learning to design, build, and program a VEX Robot. This camp will give students the opportunity to work in teams, problem-solve and design a robot to compete in competitions. Registration for this camp is $50 for students that live in a partner school district and $75 if not living in a partner school district.
