Jordan Lockhart, MVCTC Student Receives Award Honoring Preble County Native, Jonathan Fultz

Englewood, Ohio - Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Electrical Trades junior Jordan Lockhart (Northmont), was awarded the Tenth Annual Jonathan Fultz Memorial Scholarship that included a $500.00 toolkit to be used his senior year in the program and while participating in the Pre-Apprenticeship Program at MVCTC.

 

This award honors the memory of Jonathan Fultz, a 1987 graduate of Preble Shawnee High School and Montgomery County Joint Vocational School (presently MVCTC) Electrical Trades program. Jonathan began his career as an apprentice electrician with the Wagner-Smith Company after high school and achieved the status of Project Manager before his death in July 2008. His mother, Mrs. Helen Fultz, in order to honor Jonathan’s memory and to assist an MVCTC Electrical Trades student, established this award.

 

The goal is to make this a perpetuating award, to be given to a student in the MVCTC Electrical Trades program who has met the following criteria of having a 2.5 GPA or higher, 95% attendance rate, and on track for graduation with no credit deficiencies. Anyone wishing to contribute to this award may send a check to MVCTC, Attn: Mr. Matt Huffman, Treasurer, 6800 Hoke Road, Englewood, Ohio 45315. Please make a note on the memo line indicating that the check is for the Jonathan Fultz Memorial Award.

 

For over 45-years, MVCTC has been providing career technical education for 27 partner school districts encompassing five counties in Southwest Ohio.  MVCTC is dedicated to providing in-demand workforce training for youth, adults, and organizations in the Miami Valley.
