Class of 2019 Advanced Placement and Apprenticeship Signing Days

Every school year high schools across the region share inspiring stories of athletic dedication leading to students signing letters of intent to play a college sport.  While this is definitely something to celebrate, at MVCTC it is also celebrated when a high school student makes the life-altering decision to start their career as a senior!  MVCTC is proud to prepare students for a career and college.  Students are applauded for keeping their grades and attendance high in order to participate in the MVCTC Apprenticeship, Internship, or Advanced Placement programs.  Celebrating their signing day is a way to honor these students hard work, dedication, and goals for a bright career-ready future.  

APPRENTICESHIP / PRE-APPRENTICESHIP / INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

This is a unique opportunity for selected seniors to work in an approved workplace. All students who meet the eligibility criteria and who are enrolled in MVCTC career technical programs that can be certified apprenticeship occupations may request consideration for apprenticeship, pre-apprenticeship or internship status for their senior year.

  • Animal Care and Management – Melissa Allen (Brookville) employed with Mantra Paws – Englewood. For her Apprenticeship job Melissa is Washing, drying, brushing, clipping nails, cleaning ears, cleaning and helping with laundry. Her plans after high school are to attend Sinclair to pursue a degree as a Veterinary Technician. Melissa is the daughter of Peggy Allen.
  • Architectural Design - Lucas Roush (Huber Heights) employed with TP Mechanical – Dayton
  • Auto Collision – Josiah Markley (Franklin Monroe) employed with Reichard Chevrolet Collision Center in Brookville. After high school, Josiah plans to join the military and will return to collision repair work after serving.  He is the son of Jerry and Susan Markley.  
  • Auto Services – Riley Myers (Miamisburg) employed with Fodor Auto Parts – Middletown
  • Automotive Technology – Savanna Boogs, an Auto Technology senior from Ansonia, has been working as an MVCTC Apprenticeship student for the entire 2018-2019 school year.  Savanna works at Tire Discounters in Troy, changing tires and using the schools she acquired in her MVCTC Career Technical Program. The Apprenticeship program allows her to work while still completing her senior year in high school, earning money and experience.  Savanna likes what she does and hopes to gain experience to one day work for a dealership.  Savanna is the daughter of James and Gina Boggs.      
  • Automotive Technology –Ethen Borders (Huber Heights) employed with Valley Tire Company in Dayton where he is working on heavy-duty vehicles such as semi-trucks, semi-trailers, and box trucks. After high school, Ethen plans to join the U.S. Army. He is the son of Patton and Jennifer Borders.
    Automotive Technology –Austin Bowlin (West Carrolton) employed with Voss Chevrolet – Dayton/Centerville
  • Business Ownership - Charles Burns (Vandalia Butler) employed with Tomco Machining in Dayton where is completing administrative and accounting tasks. ​His job duties include logging accounts payable, taking care of payroll, making the payment/ cutting and mailing out checks, and logging the accounts receivable contracts. For the administrative side of things, he takes care of specialized tasks given to him by the president of the company ranging from inventory auditing to simply scanning in blueprints of the products they produce. ​Charles plans to attend Sinclair and major in Finance and Marketing. He would like to continue working at this current place of employment. Charles is the son of Sheryl Taylor.
    Olivia Keihl (Arcanum) employed with Eric Rumble Transport LLC in Bradford where she doing administrative work such as invoicing, payroll, and filing. Olivia is the daughter of David and Sharon Keihl.
  • Construction Carpentry -
    Chris Conarroe (Valley View) employed with HBDR Construction of Arcanum. Chris is responsible for framing, sheathing, and wrapping houses his employer builds. After high school, he plans to attend Sinclair Community College and earn his Construction Management Degree.

    Nathaniel Diehl (New Lebanon) employed with Stanley’s Truck Sales – Dayton
    Skyler Hillis (Miamisburg) employed with Zimmer Tractor in Monroe where he is assembling crate equipment, and maintaining/repairing engines on drivetrains. Skyler plans to attend Clark State and purse an associates degree in Diesel Equipment. He is the son of Raymond and Amy Hillis.

  • Early Childhood Education –
    Kailey Applegate (Northmont) employed with Nurturing Nest – Dayton
    Sabrina Ezerski (Milton Union) employed with Early Beginnings in Troy. "I am a daycare teacher, and I ensure that all the children are safe, in ratio, changed, and fed. I also make sure the classroom is clean to prevent the children from becoming ill. I create activities in different subjects such as science. In science, we brought in snow from outside and allowed children to play with it in the sensory table. I create a comfortable learning environment for the children and ensure they are having fun and learning at the same time," explains Sabrina. She plans to attend Sinclair then go on to the University of Dayton to pursue a career as a high school history teacher. Sabrina is the daughter of Thomas and Michelle Ezerski.​
    Christine Grow (Brookville) employed with Early Beginnings - Vandalia
    Iyanna Haggins (Northmont) employed with Early Beginnings in Vandalia as an assistant teacher in the Jr. Kinder's room. Iyanna plans to pursue a degree in Optometry but would like to own a daycare someday. She is the daughter of Latasha Johnson.​

    Melody Makin (Vandalia Butler) employed with Nurturing Nest in Dayton as an assistant teacher. She plans to attend Sinclair while still working at Nurturing Nest. Melody would like to pursue a career as K-Third grade teacher. She is the daughter of Michael Makin.

    Maegann Hackworth (Arcanum) employed with Culmen Real Estate Services Inc.in Dayton as an Administrative Assistant. "​I plan to continue working at Culmen Real Estate. They are a wonderful company with an amazing staff and I enjoy the work that I do," shared Maegann. She is the daughter of Steve and Tammi Hackworth.
    Chloe Holicki (Miami East) employed with New Creations Counseling Center – Tipp City
    Trinity Layman (Arcanum) employed with Tipp City Chiropractic Center as a Front Desk Receptionist. She plans to pursue a career as a massage therapist. Trinity is the daughter of Dustin and Amber Layman.
    Lillian Pietrzak (New Lebanon) employed with Eaton Compressor & Fabrication Inc. as an administrative assistant. She plans to attend Sinclair after high school. Lillian is the daughter of Adam and Aimee Pietrzak.

Advanced Placement -
The MVCTC will assist in seeking job opportunities for students in order to provide them with advanced learning experience beyond the capacity of the career technical labs. In these instances, students will be required to fulfill their academic, correlated, and related class assignments.​
  • Bradley Booker, Computer Network Engineering student from Milton-Union, signed his Advanced Placement papers to work at Copp Integrated Systems completing low voltage configuring. Bradley plans to attend Sinclair to study Pre-Engineering. He is the son of John and Felicia Booker.
  • Taylor Coppock, Animal Care and Management student from Bethel, signed her Advanced Placement papers to work for Canin Creations in Tipp City.  As part of her employment, Taylor will be using the skills learned at MVCTC to bathe, brush, and dry dogs.  Taylor shared, “I would like to become a certified groomer and groom dogs long-term.  Someday I would like to operate a grooming salon specializing in aggressive/nervous dogs.”  Daughter of Isaac and Michele Coppock of Tipp City.
  • Miesha Crenshaw, a Cosmetology student from West Carrollton, signed her Advanced Placement papers to begin work as a receptionist for Cookie Cutters Salon.  After high school, Miesha plans to attend Sinclair or join the U.S. Air Force.  She is the daughter of Sandra Chancellor.  
  • Samantha Crummie, a Cosmetology student from Milton-Union, is working for Hannah Pennington at The Loft Salon. She will be a stylist and assisting Ms. Pennington. Samantha is the daughter of Kim and David Crummie.
  • Alexis Davis, a Cosmetology student from Milton-Union, signed her Advanced Placement papers to begin work as a receptionist and stylist with Total Image Salon and Day Spa in Troy.  Alexis plans to work to build her clientele and attend college at Edison to earn her degree in Business Management. Alexis is the daughter of John and Jody Davis.
  • Brooklynn Drake, a Dental Assisting student from Franklin Monroe, is working for Gordon and DeSantis Orthodontics in Greenville. She is responsible for infection control and chairside assisting. Brooklynn plans to attend Sinclair for Dental Hygiene and later join the military. She is the daughter of James and Jeanette Weimer and Robert and Michelle Drake.

    Brayden Fox, a Business Ownership student from West Carrollton, has signed his Advanced Placement papers to work for Smith & Stueve Accounting in Dayton.
    Paola Gomez, a Cosmetology student from Wayne, has signed her Advanced Placement papers to work at Sally Beauty Supply. She plans to build her clientele in a salon and attend Sinclair. Paola is the daughter of Juan and Claudia Gomez.

  • Austin Harris, Computer Network Engineering student from Vandalia-Butler, has signed his advance placement letter to begin work ​for the City of Vandalia's Information Technology Department. His position is called the IT Support Technician and he will be troubleshooting network equipment, keep printers and access points up-to-date, and provide basic user support.
  • Julia Hite, Medical Office Management student from Northmont, signed her Advanced Placement papers with Medical Evaluators.  As part of her employment, Julia will be checking in patients, sorting medical records, scanning medical records to an online system.  Julia shared, “ I would like to attend Sinclair Community College to get my associates degree in biology.  I would like to go to medical school at Wright State and become an orthopedic surgeon.”  Julia is the daughter of Ben Hite and Michelle Durham. ​
  • Ryanne Hood, Dental Assisting student from Huber Heights, signed her Advanced Placement papers to begin work as an Orthodontist Assistant with Dr. Monica Newby's Orthodontist Office in Dayton. Ryanne will be assisting with sterilization and other office needs as an Orthodontist Assistant. She plans to continue working after high school and would like to attend college to become a physical therapist. Ryanne is the daughter of Keri Hood.
  • Elizabeth Jones, a Health Occupations student from National Trail, signed her Advanced Placement papers to begin work at the Greenbriar Nursing Center as an STNA. She plans to attend Sinclair and wants to become a registered nurse. Elizabeth is the daughter of Sean and Tammy Jones.
  • Miles Matthews, a Business Ownership student from Northmont, signed his Advanced Placement papers to begin work at Smith and Stueve PLL. Miles will be assisting with tax returns. After high school Miles plans to attend college. He is the son of Ervin and Keyea Matthews.
  • Tayah Napier, a Cosmetology student from Tri-County North has signed her advanced placement papers to work for Salon Chateau with Angel Taylor. Tayah will be working as a stylist and nail technician. She is the daughter of Stefonie Napier and Michael Schroeder and James and Tarah Napier.
  • Emma Price, a Cosmetology student from Tri-Village has signed on to work at Mosaic Hair Studio with Rhonda Vance. Emma is a licensed stylist. After graduating Emma plans to continue her education at Sinclair.  Emma is the daughter of Tony and Geneva Price.
  • Kerrah Reese, Dental Assisting student from Tri-County North, signed her Advanced Placement papers to begin work as a Clinical Assistant with New Lebanon Dental Services, Dr. James F. Hofmann, DDS. Kerrah will be assisting with chairside dental procedures on her new job. Her future plans include continuing her education at Sinclair to be an EFDA or Hygienist. Kerrah is the daughter of Sheri Reese.
  • Sophia Reser, a Cosmetology student from Northmont, signed her Advanced Placement papers to begin work as a receptionist and assistant at Parkside Salon in Englewood.  Sophia plans to attend Sinclair after she graduates and continue working at the salon. Sophia is the daughter of Gina and Richard Reser.  
  • Jacob Roesle, Computer Network Engineering senior from Tri-County North, signed his Advanced Placement papers to begin work as an Infrastructure Intern at DataYard in Dayton. Jacob plans to attend Sinclair Community College to study Computer Networking. He is the son of Joe and Tracy Roesle of Verona.
  • Clayton Simpson, a senior in the Natural Resource Management program from Valley View, recently signed his Advanced Placement papers with Montgomery County Soil and Water Conservation District! Clayton is the son of Maribeth Simpson of Germantown.
  • Lainee Stiver, Media and Video Production student from Valley View, signed her Advanced Placement papers to begin work at The Valley. Lainee is making videos highlighting employees at The Valley, and doing graphic design. After high school Lainee plans to attend college and run cross country and track while majoring in film production.  Lainee is the daughter of Paul and Lori Stiver.
  • Kaylee Thompson, a senior in the Dental Assistant program from Vandalia-Butler, signed her Advanced Placement papers with Dr. Al Dental. She will be assisting the doctor with dental patients and procedures. Kaylee plans to attend Sinclair for Dental Hygiene degree. She is the daughter of Douglas and Virginia Thompson.
  • Springg White, a Cosmetology student from West Carrollton, has signed her Advanced Placement papers to work for Collen Andes in the cosmetology industry. Springg will be a hair stylist and nail technician. She plans to attend college to be a dermatologist and continue working in a salon while in college. Springg is the daughter of Saylor White and Felicia Heard.
  • ​​​​Brenden Woodworth, a Senior at the Miami Valley Career Technology has signed his advance placement letter to begin work as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA). Brenden will be employed at Greenbriar Nursing Home in Eaton, Ohio. He will assist residents with activities of daily living. Brenden enjoys his interactions with the residents and likes learning about history through the stories the residents tell him. Brenden has earned a 3.923 GPA and his home school is Arcanum.
  • Kirsten Zink, a Dental Assisting student from Franklin Monroe, signed her Advanced Placement papers to work with Dr. Newby Orthodontics assisting with sterilization and orthodontic procedures. Kirsten plans to attend The Ohio State University and study Dental Hygiene. She is the daughter of Lisa and William Zink.
