MVCTC Congratulates Mrs. Deaton and Mrs. Haws

Engelwood, Ohio – Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) congratulates Mrs. Beth Deaton and Mrs. Kelly Haws on their retirement and thanks them for their years of dedicated service to MVCTC students and the district mission. 

 

Mrs. Deaton provided nineteen years of dedicated service to the MVCTC. She provided outstanding instruction to her students and continuously showed compassion and creativity in meeting their needs. Mrs. Deaton developed excellent, professional relationships with MVCTC and associate school staff, students, and parents; and provided an outstanding education to students in Pre-Nursing and Allied Health. She was an advocate for helping all students at MVCTC find success and has faithfully served on committees at MVCTC. Thank you, Mrs. Deaton, for being a valuable member of the Health and Consumer Sciences Department; and a supporter of career and technical education.

 

Mrs. Haws dedicated over 33 years to education and 29 years with MVCTC. She spent 22 of those years as a Business Instructor and seven years as a Student Enrollment / Professional Development Coordinator.  She has served MVCTC as a strong advocate of the Career Technical Student Organization called Business Professionals of America (BPA) and provided leadership to the regional, state, and national BPA to further highlight student technical and employability skills.  Mrs. Haws provided quality instruction to a broad spectrum of students, encouraging them to become stronger students by developing their business office skills. She supported MVCTC and its students through her genuine interest in students and devotion in moving students forward in their career area.

 

Mrs. Haws has served on the MVCTC Professional Development Committee, which is responsible for the creation of the district’s Professional Development plan and organized and implemented ongoing Professional Development opportunities for all staff.  She has provided the leadership and mentoring for new MVCTC teachers and guided them through the licensure process.   Mrs. Haws also organized, lead, and developed the process to assist teachers in obtaining their Master Teacher Recognition. 

 

Mrs. Haws provided outstanding leadership and training to the MVCTC Student Ambassador program that impacted hundreds of students throughout the years. 

She provided superior leadership and organizational skills in coordination, promotion, and detailed completion of numerous partner school district visits and Sophomore Career Days that impacted students’ career decisions.  Mrs. Haws represented MVCTC through Senior Recognition Ceremonies, Sophomore Career Days, Open Houses, Schedule Pick-up Nights, Parent/Teacher Conferences, and other innumerable events.  She has provided not only quality instruction to numerous students over the years but has helped each of them on his or her way to becoming a better person and a productive citizen, impacting numerous lives forever.

 

The MVCTC Board of Education and Staff wish to congratulate Mrs. Beth Deaton and Mrs. Kelly Haws.  The MVCTC Board joins their family, friends, and colleagues in expressing sincere gratitude and in wishing her a long, productive, and happy retirement.
