Montgomery County Prosecutors Office Victim/Witness Presentation

09/10/2019

Englewood, Ohio -- The Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) welcomed a presentation on September 5, 2019, from Sandy Hunt, Director of the Victim/Witness Division of the Montgomery County Prosecutors Office.  The presentation included educating students on strategies to defer advances made by predators, how to handle difficult social situations, substance abuse, appropriate and inappropriate dating, sexting, computer misconduct and many other areas that students could fall victim to in society today.  This has been a very well-received presentation by students and staff for many years.

Sandy Hunt, Director of the Victim/ Witness Division of the Montgomery County Prosecutors Office, has been presenting this program at MVCTC for over 15 years. MVCTC Guidance Counselor, Ms. Gaye Gerren, helped organize the event and shared, “Mathias H. Heck, Jr., the Prosecuting Attorney for Montgomery County, was always supportive and encouraged Sandy to bring knowledge to our student in hopes of deterring some of the ugly possibilities of our society from affecting our students.”

The Victim/Witness Division of the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office as described on their website, “Established in 1974, this Division is designed to help those individuals who have been a victim or witness of a violent crime.

The Victim / Witness Division provides 24-hour crisis intervention, support, and informational services to those affected by violent crime. The Advocates specialize in cases of sexual assault/abuse and homicide; however, they offer a variety of services to other victims and witnesses as well. The goal of the Division is to help victims and witnesses understand their rights and responsibilities so that they can make intelligent choices about what is best for them.”  For more information, visit www.mcohio.org.
