MVCTC Students Qualify for State SkillsUSA Competition

Plainsville, OH – Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) students competed and placed in the Regional SkillsUSA Contest on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at Tolles Career Center.  With 23 students qualifying to compete at the Ohio SkillsUSA Competition in Columbus April 7-8, 2020. The state contests bring over 5,000 competitors, business and industry partners, instructors, and vendors together in over 100 contests in all 16 Career Pathways to showcase Career and Technical Education in Ohio.

Job Interview Contest – Sam Sendral (Cosmetology/Bethel) and Paige Phillips (Graphic Commercial Arts/Northwestern). Related Technical Math Contest– Randy Estes (Robotics Automation/Carlisle). Automotive Service Technician Contest - Matthew Kirchner (Automotive Technology/Miamisburg). Photography Contest – Hailey Brumley (Graphic Commercial Photography/Tri-County North). Job Skills Demonstration Contest - Trinity Miller (Cosmetology/Brookville) and Tristen Pice (Cosmetology/Valley View). Criminal Justice Contest - Dontae Florence (Criminal Justice/Trotwood-Madison). Customer Service Contest – Brooklyn Sorrell (Graphic Commercial Arts/Miamisburg). Cosmetology Contest – Madison Green (Cosmetology/Tri-Village). Extemporaneous Speaking Contest – Colby Masters (Digital Design/Huber Heights)/ TeamWorks Team of John Borton (Electrical Trades/Tipp City), Caden Schmidt (Construction Carpentry/Miamisburg), Tyler Howland (Construction Carpentry/West Carrollton), Jeremiah           Ruiz (Construction Carpentry/Vandalia-Butler). Esthetics Contest – Benny Brock (Cosmetology/Eaton).
