MVCTC Electives, Business, Information Technology, and Agriculture Department November Students of the Month Recognized

11/20/2020

Englewood, Ohio – The Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Electives, Business, Information Technology, and Agriculture Department is proud to announce the November honorees for the Department's Career Tech Students of the Month. Kearra Peffly (Valley View) and Jonathon North (Bethel) are recognized for being outstanding representatives of their respective career tech programs.

Jonathon North (Bethel) was recognized by his Business Ownership Instructor, Mrs. Mandy Watts, for his outstanding scholarship, attendance, and work ethic.  Johnathon has proven to be a top student at CTC. Jon is completing an internship as an office assistant at Danbury Senior Living in Huber Heights, and he recently was hired on for an Accounts Payable position at Garber Electric.  Mrs. Watts stated, "Jon is a very ambitious individual who strives for perfection. He proved this his junior year by winning 1st place in the Extemporaneous Speech BPA Region 3 Contest, advancing him to state." Jonathon has also maintained perfect attendance in his junior and senior years.

Kearra Peffly (Valley View) from the Veterinary Science Program taught by Dr. Christa Nealeigh serves as the current MVCTC FFA Reporter. Keara has had the task of creating and sending our MVCTC Chapter News to the Public Relations Coordinator. She makes an effort to contact and collaborate with all FFA program instructors to keep up on their classroom and CDE activities to write newsworthy publications. She has been able to have numerous articles published in local news outlets, which she then is able to add to the MVCTC Chapter scrapbook. Dr. Nealeigh stated, "This is a large responsibility, and she has been doing a great job!"

Congratulations to Kearra and Jonathon for their outstanding accomplishments and representation of MVCTC and their respective programs.  Special thanks to Marion's Piazza of Englewood, Ohio, for donating gift certificates.
