Auto Collision Program Receives Donation from LKQ Pick Your Part

03/02/2021

The MVCTC Auto Collision Program received a donation of car fenders from LKQ Pick Your Part.

According to the LKQ Website, "LKQ Pick Your Part salvage yards sell used car parts to consumers looking for a cost-effective, inexpensive way to repair their vehicle and get back on the road."

Auto Collision instructor Mr. Chuck Phillabaum said, "I am very thankful for the donation. It will help out my junior class."

Students in the Auto Collision Program at MVCTC learn automobile dent repairing, welding, auto detailing, removing and replacing parts, electrical systems, cooling systems, and estimating. This program provides instruction in repairing plastics, fiberglass and rubber bumpers, refinishing metals, and plastics used to manufacture automobiles and trucks.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Auto Body and Repair career field will continue to grow through 2029. Many openings will arise from the need to replace workers who retire from the occupation.

MVCTC High School is still accepting applications for the 2021-2022 school year. Learn more about Auto Collision at http://www.mvctc.com/future-students/programs/ac.
