MVCTC Senior Cayden Bouas, Recognized by Northmont Rotary

03/17/2022

Englewood, Ohio – Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) senior Cayden Bouas was recognized as the Student of the Month at the March 2022, Northmont Rotary meeting.  Cayden is a senior from Northmont in the MVCTC Computer Networking & Cyber Security Program and is the son of Keith and Nicole Bouas of Englewood.

MVCTC Superintendent, Dr. Nick Weldy, presented Cayden with a plaque at the lunch meeting.  Cayden spoke with the Rotary about his experiences at MVCTC, and his current job working for Trustpar as a System Administration Intern.  After graduation, Cayden plans to attend Sinclair College using his Tech Prep Scholarship earned at MVCTC and work towards a degree in Network Engineering and certifications in Microsoft Systems.

Cayden was nominated for this award by his Career Technical Instructor, John Underwood.  Mr. Underwood stated, “Cayden is an extremely hard worker in both physical labors, but also in his studies.  He keeps very high grades due to his curiosity. Cayden is typically not satisfied with the assignments as given, instead going deeper to explore what he can do with networking and Linux.  As an example, he once designed the entire classroom and his home network within a network simulator, to see how it could be made more robust, he is in the process of volunteering his time to convert this simulation into a challenge exercise for future students.”

During the 20-21 school year Cayden participated in Business Professionals of America (BPA) Networking Administration Using Cisco Contest. He went on to be named 6th best BPA networker in the nation, all as a Junior. For the 2022 BPA Contest year, Cayden was named first in the State in the same contest and will be competing again in the National BPA Contest this May in Dallas, TX!
