Safety
- 100% of labs/classrooms
have a First Aid flip chart for easy reference
- Video cameras
record all exterior areas; installed for In-School Suspension; phase to
be considered will be for recording other interior common areas
- Investigating
expansion to a digital system of recording via the computer
- Safety officer
has completed SB1 requirement of the Disaster Plan Manual and placed four
disaster kits in appropriate offices; the plans are being review annually
- Safe Schools
Tip Line (854-6393) is available.
- Fall 2001,
100% of students and staff have been issued a breakaway lanyard with the
Safe Schools Tip Line phone number on it. (Posters also help publicize the
help line. It is also posted on MVCTC website.)
- 100% of students
and staff wearing I.D.'s
- Maintenance
personnel are investigating attending an OSHA Safety Workshop

Technology
- In Fall 2001,
900 juniors were issued a notebook computer ( an added tool/resource to
encourage learning)
- SN@P training
has occurred for 100% of Academic instructors and 25% of Career-Technical
Staff (3 yr. implementation)
- A dedicated
notebook service center with a repair technician is available for troubleshooting
problems which may arise for students
- 100% of the
MVCTC campus allows for wireless network computing
- 25 recharging
storage units were placed in labs over Summer 2001, These hold up to 30
notebooks and allow for batteries to be charged.
- Additionally,
two wireless carts of 20 & 24 computers are available for use.
- Data for
Student Learning (DSL) is available to 100% of staff. This software facilitates
easy access to student information
- Microsoft
Office suite used campus-wide
- In 2001-2002,
e-mail filtering is being implemented
- MVCTC website
is user-friendly providing student and teacher resources, plus a view of
the School Notebook @ccess Program.
- The website
will provide a link to the student handbook the fall of 2002.
- By February
1, 2002 the school will be using AESOP (an automated method of recording
staff absences and securing substitutes for all full-time staff)

Continue
