The MVCTC Adult Electrician Program prepares students for a career in the electrical trades, either residential, commercial, or industrial. Students will learn to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Ensure that work is following relevant codes. 

Accreditation:

The Miami Valley CTC Electrical Trades program follows the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) curriculum. Upon successful completion, students earn NCCER certification. NCCER’s instructor certification process, standardized curriculum, assessment, student certification, and the national registry are the industry leaders for adult workforce education.

Program Goals:

• Demonstrate electrical safety practices
• Calculate load in various systems
• Gain knowledge of motor control and relay logic
• Learn programmable controllers and ladder logic
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical devices, components, and equipment
• Gain knowledge of electrical codes and standards, blueprint reading, and wiring diagrams
