Professional Development Day for MVCTC Practical Nursing and Medical Assisting

11/16/2015

As testimony to the phrase “You can start here and go anywhere”, MVCTC Nursing and Medical Assisting students participated in a day of activities that featured past MVCTC graduates.  Several dozen vendors and employers shared professional opportunities that ranged from employment advice to career advancement.

The advice and sharing of information was especially meaningful in that it came from previous MVCTC graduates of the Practical Nursing Program.

Among the participants who began their career in healthcare at MVCTC were Sherri Gunasekera, Administrator at St. Leonard Center; Sherri Judy, Home Health Aide Coordinator at Horizon Home Health; Rochelle Miller, ADON at Pristine Senior Living of Englewood; Rusty Puckett, LPN at Reid Hospital and Jordan Warner LPN at Brookhaven and currently enrolled in school for RN.

A special thanks goes to Kelly Maxwell, MVCTC Nursing Instructor for organizing the events of the day.
