MVCTC Hosts Visit for Additional Eye Care Accreditation

09/14/2016

MVCTC is seeking an additional accreditation for its Optometric Technician Program from the Commission on Accreditation of Ophthalmic Medical Programs. The current Optometric Technician program is the only one of its kind in the state of Ohio. The MVCTC Adult Education Program trains Optometric Technicians to be a key member of the eye care team and provide quality vision care to patients in eye care facilities. The additional accreditation will be added to the current accreditation through JCAHPO (Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology). The additional accreditation will enhance employment opportunities for graduates of the MVCTC eye care program. Entry level certified graduates average $42,500 annually. MVCTC will host a visiting team for the accreditation on September 19 and 20, 2016. Classes begin soon. Call 937-854-6297 to start the admission process. An information session for the program will be held Thursday, September 15 at 6 pm at the Adult Education Center.
