Description
Position Summary:
An Automotive Technician diagnoses, repairs, and performs routine maintenance on vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operation. This role requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using computerized diagnostic equipment
Repair or replace defective parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and steering systems
Conduct vehicle inspections and identify potential problems
Test vehicles after repairs to ensure proper performance
Maintain accurate service records and documentation
Communicate with customers or service advisors about vehicle issues and repair recommendations
Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Completion of an automotive technology program (preferred)
Relevant certifications (e.g., National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)) are a plus
Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods
Lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs or more)
Work in various positions (bending, kneeling, reaching)
Work Environment:
Repair shops, dealerships, or service centers
Exposure to noise, fumes, and mechanical hazards
Days / Hours
Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
