Valley View-MVCTC FFA Members Participate in Job Interview Career Development Event

On October 24th all Valley View-MVCTC FFA members participated in a Chapter Job Interview Career Development Event. The students prepared a Cover Letter, Resume, and Application in preparation for the mock interview. We would like to thank the following community members for helping throughout the day interview our FFA Members; Mr. Tom Winning, Mr. Jim Vose, Mrs. Tabitha Shuey, and Mrs. Becky Landis-Kinner. The top placing students were; Freshman- Keith Kinner, Sophomore- Mackenzie Hoog, Junior- Taylor Thomas, Senior- Jordan Johnson. Mackenzie, Taylor, and Jordan continued on to compete at the District Job Interview Career Development Event held at St. Mary’s Memorial High School.  

 

At the District Level the students not only designed their resume and cover letters and completed a job application but also composed a follow-up thank you letter and properly addressed an envelope.

 

Mackenzie Hoog placed 6th out of 22 contestants in Division 2 (sophomore students).

 

Taylor Thomas placed 12th out of 20 contestants in Division 3 (junior students).

 

Jordan Johnson placed 10th out of 21 contestants in Division 4 (senior students).

 

The National FFA Organization (formerly known as Future Farmers of America) provides leadership, personal growth and career success training through agricultural education. Today, there are 653,359 FFA members, aged 12-21, in 8,568 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
