MVCTC Alumni Success Story - Mark Fox Allied Health/Medical Laboratory Class of 1997 from Northmont.
 
Mark is employed with the American College of Cardiology as a Privacy and Research Compliance Officer. He is certified in general healthcare compliance, healthcare privacy compliance, and healthcare research compliance. Mark led the development of a comprehensive compliance program for the National Cardiovascular Data Registry, the largest cardiovascular data registry in the United States. Mark previously worked for MedCath as an Implementation Specialist overseeing the standardization of systems for Performance Improvement and Risk Management. He supported the opening of five heart specialty hospitals. Mark is an Emergency Medical Technician by training and currently holds a certification in Healthcare Compliance, Healthcare Privacy Compliance, and Healthcare Research Compliance. Mark has also served in multiple technical theatre roles over the course of the last 20 years. He previously was the Assistant Production Manager for the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington D.C. and Assistant Stage Manager for Island City Stage. He also previously served on the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Community Church of Northern Virginia whereas Treasurer, he successfully implemented a financial contingency plan that stabilized the financial standings of the organization. Mark's also served on board of Island City Stage, where he served as a member at large. Mark currently serves as the Secretary of the Bears of South Florida. Mark has also presented at national meetings on the topics of observational registries, privacy, and research compliance. Mark has published articles in Compliance Today and has contributed to publications of the American Medical Association and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
