April 2022 Construction Update from Dr. Weldy

04/11/2022

The Multi-Purpose Activity Center (MAC) is now functional and MVCTC has started to hold school events in the space. Recently, the MAC has been used for the district’s National Technical Honor Society inductions, ACT testing, End-of-Course testing and will be used in April for MVCTC’s Prom and annual FFA Banquet. Student breakfast and lunch service will begin on Tuesday, April 12.

Currently, there is a great deal of electrical, plumbing and mechanical work that is taking place in the building spine. Metal roof panels have all been installed on the west side of the spine and are continuing to be installed on the east side. Clerestory glass is complete on the west side of the spine. Metal siding panels are being installed on the exterior of both sides of the spine.

As we near the end of the school year, this summer will focus on finalizing the plan to move instructors in December/January, base course asphalt installation to the north and east of the building, continued work on the spine, and construction of the final two agricultural structures that are to the south of the remodeled and expanded building.

With school ending in mid-May, the next construction update will be communicated in June.
