Safety/Social Distancing Guidelines for MVCTC Adult Education

MVCTC Adult Education will follow the state of Ohio’s recommendations and will implement the following protocols for re-opening after the COVID-19 stay-at-home order:

1. We will require face coverings for employees and students/customers at all times.

  • Staff, students, and visitors are asked to bring their own mask.  If a person does not have a mask, one will be provided for them.

2. We will require a self-administered daily health assessment by employees and students to determine if they are "fit for duty" or class. Take your temperature before coming to campus to verify you are not running a fever because of feeling ill.

  • Do NOT come to campus if you are feeling ill.
  • Do NOT come to campus if someone in your household is feeling ill.
  • Do NOT come to campus if you have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the past 14 days.
    • Students will have the opportunity to make up hours without penalty if class is missed due to following these guidelines.
  • Do NOT bring anyone with you; anyone else riding in your car must remain in your car.
  • Please know there will be timely email notifying staff and students if cases of COVID-19 are identified.

3. MVCTC expects you will maintain good hygiene at all times - hand washing and social distancing.

  • Hand sanitizer will be provided in each classroom.
  • Handwashing sinks are available in restrooms.

4. MVCTC will clean and sanitize the common touch surfaces throughout the day and at the end of classes for the day.

  • Staff and students will use a disinfecting wipe to clean surfaces they have touched after each use (similar to wiping down gym equipment after each use). This would include all surfaces, e.g. latches on restroom stalls, exit doors, microwaves
  • Cleaning staff will clean classrooms, restrooms, and other areas each morning.

5. Building occupancy will be limited to 50% of the fire code to meet social distancing guidelines. Further, we will require appointments to be set for any visitors.

  • Class meetings will be limited to groups smaller than 10 in size including the instructor.
  • Visitors are allowed in the building by appointment but will remain in the lobby until called into the main office.
  • Visitors and students are expected to maintain a social distance of 6 feet.
