MVCTC Class of 2025 Honored at Senior Recognition Ceremony

Englewood, Ohio – The Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) proudly celebrated the achievements of the Class of 2025 during the Senior Recognition Ceremony, held on Friday, May 16, 2025, at the University of Dayton Arena. 773 seniors were recognized and awarded their MVCTC Career Passports, symbolizing the successful completion of their career-technical and academic education. This included 163 students receiving Certificate of Recognition with Honors, and 492 Certificates of Recognition.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of over $5.8 million in college scholarships earned by MVCTC seniors. This total includes 900 students who qualified for the Tech Prep $3,000 Scholarship to Sinclair College, collectively earning $2.7 million in support for their continued education.

MVCTC Superintendent Dr. Nick Weldy and MVCTC Board of Education President Dr. Gerry Espeleta shared opening remarks. Inspiring student reflections were offered by Class of 2025 representatives Macey Alcorn (Graphic Commercial Art/Huber Heights), Laci Jerome (Cosmetology/Brookville), and Lacey Bowman (Pre-Nursing/Vandalia-Butler).

The program included powerful performances from students, including the National Anthem sung by Zoey Elson (Media & Video Production/Ansonia), with additional musical selections by seniors Shakira Denlinger (Cosmetology/Arcanum-Butler) and Antonio Duran (Health Occupations/Tipp City).

MVCTC proudly recognized the following valedictorians—students who earned a 4.0 GPA for two years at MVCTC and the highest unweighted cumulative GPA over four years of high school, while attending MVCTC full-time:

  • Kora Lykins (Early Childhood Education/Tri-County North)

The Salutatorian for the Class of 2025 is Telisah Bray-Harris (Biotechnology/Miamisburg), who also earned a 4.0 GPA for two years at MVCTC and the second-highest unweighted cumulative GPA over four years.

In addition to academic excellence, students were recognized with MVCTC Foundation and partner scholarships:
