Parent Letter Regarding Sophomore Career Visitation Days

11/15/2021

Dear Parents/Guardians:

The Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) will be hosting Sophomore Career Visitation Days on campus November 30-December 2, 2021. These days allow sophomore students from our partner districts the opportunity to visit MVCTC, see the career technical programs offered, and determine if they want to enroll at MVCTC for the 2022-2023 school year.

All current MVCTC students will have assignments given in advance to complete during these three days. It is possible that your student will not be attending classes on campus all three days. Some of our current students may be asked by their career-technical instructor to assist up to two of the three days. When students are not assisting with Sophomore Career Days, they will not be at school during the three days.

All students will have alternate assignments for academic and career-technical classes to complete, whether they are assisting or not in their lab. These completed assignments will also count as their attendance for each school day. Students are provided with the assignment due dates well in advance.

If your student is asked to assist in their career-technical lab, they will be expected to arrive by 8:00 a.m. and they will be dismissed for the day by 1 :45 p.m. Lunch will be provided. However, transportation will not be provided by the partner district. Parking will be available in the student parking lot, and no parking permit is required for these days. Your student's career-technical teacher will provide additional details regarding expectations if they are asked to assist.

If you have any questions, please contact MVCTC at 937-837-7781 or contact your student's career-technical teacher via phone or email.

Sincerely,

Dr. Nick Weldy
MVCTC Superintendent
