MVCTC Students Excel at Business Professional of America Regional Contest

Englewood, Ohio -- Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Business Professionals of America (BPA) students performed well at the recent BPA Regional Contests with 119 students winning or placing in the top six for their contest. Of the regional winners, 42 qualified to compete at the State BPA Contest in Columbus March 16-17, 2017.

The following students placed in the top six at the Regional BPA Contest:

  • Alyxandria Adams, Medical Office Management student from Preble Shawnee, placed 2nd in the Administrative Support Concepts BPA Regional Contest and qualified for the State BPA Contest.
  • Joshua Adkins, Game Programming & Web Applications student from West Carrollton, placed 6thth in C++ Programming and placed 1st in the Computer Programming Concepts BPA Regional Contest. He qualified for the State BPA Contest.
  • Morelia Balli, Medical Office Management student from Wayne, placed 1st in the Medical Office Procedures BPA Regional Contest and qualified for the State BPA Contest.
  • Mikayla Barnes, Medical Office Management student from Dixie, placed 4th in the Basic Office Systems & Procedures BPA Regional Contest.
  • Austin Behnken, Business Ownership student from Brookville, placed 4th in the Human Resource Management BPA Regional Contest.
  • Daniel Berry, Computer Network Engineering student from Brookville, placed 4th in the Information Technology Concepts BPA Regional Contest.

  • The Business Ownership team of Nigora Aripova (West Carrollton) and Breanna Logar (West Carrollton) placed 1st in the Financial Analyst Team Event and qualified for the State BPA Contest.
  • The Business Ownership team of Isabelle Middleton (Tri-Village), Alison Peirce (Wayne), and Kaitlan Thompson (Arcanum) placed 1st in the Global Marketing Team event and qualified for the State BPA Contest.
  • The Computer Network Engineering team of Dylan Kemp (Eaton), Dakota Marshall (West Carrollton), Noah McGahee (Vandalia-Butler), and Nathaniel Scurlock (Dixie) placed 1st in the Network Design Team event and qualified for the State BPA Contest.
  • The Business Ownership team of Deanna Cohen (Vandalia-Butler), Logan Cupp (Franklin-Monroe), Joshua Garver (Northmont), and Paige Tackett (Valley View) placed 1st in the Presentation Management Event and qualified for the State BPA Contest.
  • The Business Ownership team of Marlen Cuazitl (Northridge), Brittany McDaniel (Northmont), and Rashanti Shafeek (Trotwood) placed 2nd in the Small Business Management Team Event.
  • The Sports Management and Marketing team of Sean Hodges (Eaton), William Jones (Brookville), and Parker Matson (Northmont) placed 3rd in the Small Business Management Team Event.
  • The Media and Video Production team of Dillon Boninsegna (Northmont), Madison French (Vandalia-Butler), Michael Saylor (Carlisle), and Tyler Shafer (Bethel) placed 1st in the Video Production Team event and qualified for the State BPA Contest.

 BPA is a national student organization that serves Business and Information Technology students. Members participate in activities that promote leadership, citizenship, academic, and technological skills, as well as competing in BPA contests related to their career field at the local, regional, state, and national levels.
