Englewood, Ohio -- Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) 2013 Business Ownership completer Jeris Getter attributed MVCTC for letting him live his dream.  Getter, a 2013 Tri-County North graduate, obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Indiana University.  He concentrated on Marketing for his undergraduate degree and minored in Sports Marketing and Management.  Getter, who will soon be starting a MBA program, shared, “MVCTC allowed me to come out of my shell and turned me in to the professional you see today. As a kid with a disability, MVCTC made my transition into the business world and business school a lot easier.”

Getter is currently an Assistant Football Coach at Earlham College in Richmond, IN.  He explained how MVCTC made this possible, “MVCTC allowed me to obtain leadership qualities to help lead an NCAA football program. If it wasn't for MVCTC I wouldn't be living my dream”.

The MVCTC Business Ownership program teaches students many aspects of owning and managing a business.  Students will study management techniques, finance, marketing, and human resources. Business Ownership students have the opportunity to participate in Advanced Placement options, and obtain Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certifications. This is a Tech Prep program, which means any student meeting the requirements will earn a $3,000 scholarship to Sinclair.
