Arcanum MVCTC FFA Banners in Farm Business Management

Arcanum MVCTC FFA members recently competed in the Ohio FFA Farm Business Management Contest.  The team consisted of members from Mr. Brian Pohlman’s Ag Business Class.   Those students were Alex Weiss, Isaiah Baker, Jacob Osswald, Samantha McAllister, Madison Goubeaux, Hannah Rammel, Zachary Smith, Kaleb Shilt, Dylan Lumpkin, Ashlynn Farmer, Alexandria Less, Hannah Smith, Tyler Rardin, Jonah Weidner, Tiffany Abbott, Cole Spitler and Marcus Plessinger.   The team from Arcanum placed 4th overall in the State out of over 100 schools.   Alex Weiss placed 7th overall as an individual out of over 1000 participates. The purpose of the Farm Business Management Test is to provide students with the opportunity to make a practical application of the knowledge and skills learned in the production agriculture curriculum in solving typical farm management problems.  The online written test is designed to test the team members’ understanding of economic principles in farm business management.  The problem-solving portion of the CDE is designed to determine the team members’ ability to apply economic principles of farm business management to actual problems and to define the decisions that need to be made.
