MVCTC FCCLA Atlanta Bound for National Competition

Englewood, Ohio – Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Culinary Arts, Early Childhood Education, and Hospitality Services students competed in the Ohio Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Competition on April 26-27, in Columbus.    Many students qualified to represent Ohio at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference June 28-July 2, in Atlanta.

 

MVCTC students winning their state competition and qualifying for the National FCCLA Competition include:

  • Culinary Arts junior, Divine Lee (Northmont) received a Gold Rating in the Applied Math for Culinary Arts contest
  • Early Childhood Education junior, Melody Makin (Vandalia) received a Gold Rating and First Place in the Leadership contest
  • Early Childhood Education senior, Olivia Mett (Valley View) received a Gold Rating and First Place in the Illustrated Talk contest
  • Culinary Arts junior, Kiara Reese (Miamisburg) received a Gold Rating in the Entrepreneurship contest
  • Culinary Arts junior, Stuart Royer (Vandalia) received a Gold Rating in the Sports Nutrition contest
  • Culinary Arts junior team of Nathaniel Adkins (Bethel) and Zola Hassell (New Lebanon) received a Gold Rating in the Hospitality, Tourism, and Recreation contest
  • Early Childhood Education junior team of Alexandria Allen (New Lebanon), Sabrina Ezerski (Valley View), and Wesley Toney (Miamisburg) received a Gold Rating and Third Place in the Illustrated Talk contest
  • Early Childhood Education junior team of Sydney Brandenburg (West Carrollton) and Olivia Webb (Carlisle) received a Gold Rating and First Place in the Chapter Service Portfolio contest
  • Early Childhood Education  junior team of Kailey Applegate (Northmont), Iyana Haggins (Northmont), and Jalyn Wilson (Northmont) received a Gold Rating and First Place in the National Programs in Action-Community Service

 

The following MVCTC students placed at the State FCCLA Contest:

 

  • Early Childhood Education senior, Ashley Brown (Preble Shawnee) received a Gold Rating and Third Place in the Career Investigation contest
  • Culinary Arts junior, MyLinda Kmucha (Huber Heights) received a Gold Rating in the Garde Manger contest
  • Early Childhood Education junior Taylor Roberts (Vandalia) received a Gold Rating and Third Place in the Life Event Planning Contest
  • Early Childhood Education junior team of Madyson Richards (Arcanum), Riley Cruse (Tri-County North), and Lauryn Templeton (Miamisburg) received a Silver Rating in the Chapter Service Display contest
  • Early Childhood Education senior team of Olivia Mett (Valley View), Ashley Brown (Preble Shawnee), and Tanner Marburger (Brookville) received a Gold Rating and Second Place in the Chapter in Review Portfolio contest
  • Hospitality Services senior team of Alexis Conley (Vandalia), Francesca Shellabarger (Franklin Monroe), and Keara Corder (Eaton) received a Silver Rating for the National Programs in Action-Community Service
  • Hospitality Services junior team of Destiny Lowery (Northmont) and Nathaniel McKenzie (Northmont) received a Silver Rating in  the Chapter Service Display Project

 

Culinary Arts Junior, Kiara Reese (Miamisburg) was also selected to serve as FCCLA Region 4 Regional Executive Council for 2018-2019 school year!
