MVCTC FFA Chapter Attends Young Leaders Conference at OSU

02/21/2019

Columbus, Ohio – Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Veterinary Science, Agriculture and Livestock Production, and Natural Resource Management programs attended the Young Leaders Conference at The Ohio State University on February 8, 2019.  This event is held annually for the benefit of Ohio FFA members to learn leadership and public speaking skills.

The conference included sessions by OSU extension agent Dustin Homan on proper FFA etiquette, Krista Scott informed students how to prepare for college and their future careers, and students from Alpha Gamma Rho and Sigma Alpha shared personal experiences on how to present yourself to potential employers properly. The afternoon included the presentation of scholarships and keynote speaker Sydney Snider, past state and national FFA officer. Snider influenced students on how to be a mentor in all aspects of life.

The National FFA Organization makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. The Miami Valley CTC FFA Chapter teaches students these skills to succeed in the future. Members have many opportunities to get involved; such as becoming chapter officers, participating in state and national CDE activities, and developing their own SAE project.
