MVCTC Construction Trades programs complete real life project

03/25/2019

MVCTC High School Carpentry, Electrical, Heavy Equipment, HVAC programs hosted business partner B Concrete, Inc. from Brookville.  B Concrete worked with students to learn the process of pouring concrete.  The week of March 19,  students in Carpentry and Heavy Equipment learned to form concrete slabs used for foundation walls.  HVAC and Electrical students installed ductwork and electrical pipes under the concrete.  The concrete project was an excellent opportunity to work with a local business partner and complete hands-on training.  Thank you to B Concrete, Inc. for coming to MVCTC and working with students on this valuable lesson.

MVCTC High School programs offer career technical education training for high school juniors and seniors in the high demand fields of Construction Carpentry, Electrical Trades, HVAC, and Heavy Equipment Operator.  All four programs offer students the opportunity to earn a National  Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) industry credential and are Ohio State Apprenticeship recognized Pre-Apprenticeship programs.  Industry credentials and the Pre-Apprenticeship program allows students to work while completing high school, many times in careers that are paying high wages and offering a lifetime of opportunities with no college debt.  To learn more about high school construction trades options at MVCTC, visit http://www.mvctc.com/future-students
