MVCTC Students Attend FFA Camp

Englewood, Ohio -- During the week of June 17-21, 2019, the new MVCTC FFA officer team attended Summer Camp at Camp Muskingum. The 2019-20 MVCTC FFA officers that participated in the camp are:

  • Keara Knepshield (Veterinary Science/Franklin Monroe)
  • Peyton Ryan (Veterinary Science/Brookville)
  • Kristin Denlinger (Veterinary Science/Brookville)
  • Brittany Ployer (Veterinary Science/Preble Shawnee)
  • Katelyn Redick(Veterinary Science/Miamisburg)
  • Audra Burger (Retail Agricultural Services/Preble Shawnee)
  • Josiah Kirchhoffer (Natural Resource Management/Brookville)

Also, FFA Advisor,  Dr. Christa Nealeigh, and two students from the Veterinary Science program, Alyssa Conley (Vandalia Butler) and Lilly Preston (Tri-Village), had a chance to attend FFA Camp Muskingum.

The theme for this year was “Color Wars.”  Upon arrival, FFA State Officers greeted students.  The first day consisted of introductions, team-building exercises, leadership discussions, rules for the week, and a dance party to end the night.  During the week-long camp, it rained a great deal, but students still had fun.  They played water games, went boating, played volleyball/ basketball, practiced skills at the archery/gun range, and completed a high ropes course.

Ohio FFA Camp Muskingum provides quality resources and facilities to agriculture education students and others by promoting diverse applied education experiences in conservation education, personal development, leadership training, and recreational activities.

MVCTC FFA Vice President, Keara Knepshield stated that “ FFA camp opened up my eyes to meeting new people and finding different paths of agriculture that I never thought I would be interested in learning. The camp was very fun, and the experience was amazing”.
