MVCTC students earn Cosmetology License and are ready to work!

Englewood, Ohio  -- Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Cosmetology seniors Jackie Dickey (Brookville) and Lucille Nace (New Lebanon) completed 1500 hours of cosmetology training which included a 150-hour internship program.  Both students have passed their Ohio State Board of Cosmetology Exam and are employed at Design Crew in Brookville!

The MVCTC Cosmetology program is designed to comply with the requirements of the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology in conjunction with the standards of the Ohio Department of Education. The Cosmetology program is a two-year program of classroom instruction that includes clinical experience. Students learn procedures and skills to earn their cosmetologist license. Students learn to perform a wide range of tasks requiring both interpersonal and technical skills along with demonstrating creativity and artistic talents. The curriculum includes microbiology and infection control, fundamentals of styling and cutting, fundamentals of chemical services, salon operations and communication, manicures and pedicures, and facial services/esthetician.  The goal of the program is to prepare students for the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology Exam.
