    • Juniors ONLY will attend Friday
    • Seniors ONLY will attend Saturday       **Students may only attend on their designated night.

 

  • Due to Health Department guidelines, space is VERY limited.
  • Tickets are no longer available.
  • There is NO COST to students this year!
  • PROM is for MVCTC students ONLY. No outside guests will be permitted.
  • MASKS are to be worn at all times, and students should maintain social distancing.
  • Favors will be provided upon leaving the event.

2021 ESTABLISHED EXPECTATIONS FOR THE MVCTC PROM

 

The 2021 MVCTC Prom will be held on Friday, April 9th (JUNIORS ONLY) and Saturday, April 10th (SENIORS ONLY), beginning at 8:00 P.M. and ending at 11:00 P.M., in the Student Activity Center at the Miami Valley Career Technology Center, 6800 Hoke Road, Englewood, Ohio 45315. Students are required to abide by all MVCTC school rules and the established expectations outlined in this document. Students may be asked to leave the dance for not following MVCTC school rules and/or the established expectations outlined below.

 

Students will acknowledge having received and read the ESTABLISHED EXPECTATIONS FOR THE 2021 MVCTC PROM upon ordering a ticket.

  • All MVCTC students will enter the prom using their school issued ID.
  • MVCTC reserves the right to refuse anyone admittance to the prom.

TICKETS

  1. Tickets will be NO COST to students this year.
  2. Once a ticket is ordered, your student ID will serve as your “ticket” to enter prom.   

 

DRESS CODE

Formal attire is required for the MVCTC Prom. The following dress code will be in effect. Violations may result in non-admittance. If dress code violations occur after admittance, the student may be removed from the dance.  If any attendee has a question about the appropriateness of their dress, please consult with your building principal prior to the event.

 

**MASKS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES WHILE ATTENDING THE MVCTC PROM. Failure to comply may result in dismissal from the event.

 

FEMININE GUIDELINES:

  1. Dresses are to be formal. Dresses are not to have bare midriffs, cut-outs exposing skin, fit too tight, or ride up as a student dances. Dresses, or any opening in the dress, must not be shorter than fingertip length. Undergarments should not be visible.
  2. All necklines must be modest and in good taste.
  3. Stretchy (lycra, spandex, etc.) tight skirts that may creep up are not permitted.
  4. Strapless/spaghetti straps are permitted.
  5. Any other attire deemed inappropriate by MVCTC administration will not be permitted.

   MASCULINE GUIDELINES:

  1. Must wear collared shirts with sleeves and dress slacks. Sunglasses and bandanas are not permitted.
  2. Blue jeans or shorts are not permitted.  Undergarments should not be visible.
  3. Any other attire deemed inappropriate by MVCTC administration will not be permitted.

ADMITTANCE/ATTENDANCE

  1. Admittance is subject to approval of the MVCTC Administration.  Note:  Permission to attend the MVCTC Prom is a privilege, not a right, and may be revoked for lack of responsibility at school for reasons including, but not limited to: suspension/expulsion, chronic discipline issues & unsatisfactory attendance.
  2. Any student attending must be willing to submit to alcohol/drug testing.
  3. Students may be subject to random temperature screenings.  
  4. Any student may be searched for weapons and illegal substances prior to admittance into the event.
  5. No student will be admitted after 9:00 p.m. unless prior written arrangements have been made with an MVCTC Building Principal.
  6. Students will have student ID scanned upon entry AND exit. Any student who leaves without permission during the dance will not be readmitted.
  7. All students must be picked up from the campus no later than 11:05 pm.

GENERAL RULES

  1. All MVCTC school rules and the established expectations outlined in this document are in force during the dance.
  2. Any student suspected of using alcohol or any controlled or illegal substance prior to or during the dance will be removed from the dance. Parents will be called to escort the person home. Using tobacco at school events is prohibited. Any student suspected of using alcohol or any controlled or illegal substance prior to or during the dance or tobacco during the dance is subject to an out of school suspension and may face criminal charges.
  3. Students are not permitted to loiter in the parking lot prior to or upon departure from the event.

DANCE CONDUCT

School dances are school functions, and as such, students are expected to dress and behave in ways that are appropriate for the school setting. Students are expected to behave appropriately on the dance floor. Students must recognize that movements and dance styles present in non-school settings or portrayed in the entertainment industry are not always appropriate in the high school setting. Sexually explicit dancing such as twerking, grinding, or any other type of dancing or act which could be construed as vulgar or provocative is prohibited. Dancers must remain upright, with both feet on the floor. Face-to-face dancing is preferred. No “making out” (overt and/or prolonged public displays of affection). Moshing or slamming is not permitted.

NOTE:  Violation of the dance conduct policy will result in removal from the dance and possible discipline.
