MVCTC BPA Chapter Holds First Meeting of School Year

09/23/2021

Englewood, Ohio - The Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) BPA Chapter held its first meeting on September 14, 2021.  The meeting included introductions of this year's officers and the first information meeting in two years of what BPA is due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The 2021-2022 BPA Officer's are:

  • President - Elliana Scheckle, Business Ownership Class of 2022 from Troy Christian
  • Vice President - Jason Thompson, Sports Management & Marketing Class of 2022 from Northmont
  • Secretary - Hailey Howard, Sports Management & Marketing Class of 2022 from Troy Christian
  • Treasurer - Haley Maroney, Sports Management & Marketing Class of 2022 from New Lebanon
  • Public Relations - David Pryor, Computer Networking & Cyber Security Class of 2022 from West Carrollton

The BPA meeting kicked off with Elliana Scheckle introducing the new officers, along with the BPA pledge. There has not been a meeting in the last two years, which means BPA is new for the current juniors and seniors. BPA is all about professionalism and getting involved with the community. Students are rewarded for these acts through Torch Awards, as explained by Jason Thompson.

The next section of the meeting held a graduate panel of MVCTC Alumni students who spoke upon the benefits of attending MVCTC and how it has led to their success past high school. Many graduates have high-paying jobs, and two past students have even started their own video company. The alumni panel gave the audience some tips about their future and how to prepare for success after finishing MVCTC. The audience seemed to grasp what information they could, shown by the abundance of questions. Thank you to MVCTC alumni Ransome, Chris Stayte, and Madeline Stewart for sharing their experiences.

The meeting came to a close with Mrs. Watts sharing what it means to be a part of BPA Region Three.  She encouraged everyone to take part in BPA officer elections and contests. The meeting ended with the Pledge of Allegiance and a round of applause for the 2021-2022 BPA Officers for reinstating the importance of BPA for students entering the business world.

Dedicated to providing premier educational choices and advanced employment preparation for youth, adults, and organizations, MVCTC has proudly served the Miami Valley since 1971.
