MVCTC Computer Repair & Technical Support Students Visit Interlink Advantage
Englewood, OH -- The Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Computer Repair and Technical Support senior class recently spent the afternoon at Interlink Advantage, a local IT company in Englewood.
Company CIO Ben Zechar gave the class a tour of the facility and explained all the different areas of IT support. Interlink Advantage provides computer support for individuals and companies, including software, hardware, networking, and security. It gave the students a good picture of what working in the IT industry is all about and the skills needed to succeed in the field.
Interlink currently employees a student intern from the Computer Repair & Technical Support Program and two former MVCTC graduates from the Computer Networking program. Mr. Zechar also serves as a Work-Based Learning Mentor and assists in making sure that students are learning the most up-to-date technology, hands-on skills in the computer industry, and customer service skills.
MVCTC Computer Repair & Technical Support instructor Amy Sugden shared, “This was an outstanding opportunity for our students to see the skills they are learning in the classroom being applied in the real world and see Daniel (current CR Intern) on the job!”

The Computer Repair and Technical Support Program prepares students to enter the IT career field or be prepared to enter the next level of training in the IT field. Students will learn to install, repair, and troubleshoot computer hardware systems. They will perform maintenance practices, learn techniques for maintaining computer hardware security, and learn 3D printer technologies and maintenance. Students will also learn the fundamentals of database management. This program will emphasize communication skills and professionalism in troubleshooting problems.

For 50-years, MVCTC has provided career technical education for 27 partner school districts encompassing five counties, including Darke, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, and Warren counties.
