MVCTC Students Heading to National HOSA Future Health Professionals Competition

Englewood, Ohio -- Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) HOSA Future Health Professional students competed in the Ohio State Leadership Contests in March, with 18 students qualifying to compete at the National HOSA Leadership Conference on June 22-25, in Nashville, TN.

RJ Grill, (Pre-Nursing/New Lebanon) was elected as the Ohio HOSA Vice President for the 2022-2023 school year.

The senior MVCTC HOSA Chapter was announced as the first-place winner of the HOSA Future Health Professionals, Donate Life Challenge!  The junior MVCTC HOSA Chapter placed third in the state!

First Place

  • The Parliamentary Procedure Team of RJ Grill (Pre-Nursing/New Lebanon), Rebekah Seim (Pre-Nursing/New Lebanon), Gabriella Elizondo (Pre-Nursing/Mississinawa Valley), Jair Zacarias Medina (Pre-Nursing/Jefferson), and Abigail Barlow (Pre-Nursing/Miamisburg) first-place in Ohio
  • Malayla Norvell Ingram (Medical Lab Assisting/Northmont) first-place in the Ohio Life Support Skills Contest
  • Rebekah Prasuhn (Health Occupations/Ansonia) first-place in the Ohio Researched Persuasive Writing and Speaking Contest
  • Jordan Wheeler (Biotechnology/Carlisle) first-place in the Ohio Health Career Photography Contest

Second Place

  • The CPR/First Aid Team Libby Porter (Medical Lab Assisting/Valley View) and Amaya Cover (Medical Lab Assisting/Ansonia) second place in Ohio
  • Annabel Beach (Sports Medicine/Northmont) second place in Ohio Physical Therapy Contest
  • Devyn Cordell (Health Occupations/Northmont) second place in Ohio Personal Care Contest
  • Faith Hatton (Medical Lab Assisting/Vandalia Butler) second place Ohio Life Support Skills Contest

Third Place

  • HOSA Bowl Team Contest Emily Lirtzman (Biotechnology/Vandalia Butler), Arianna Roberts (Biotechnology/Miamisburg), Amy Strider (Biotechnology/Carlisle), and Isabella Tucker (Biotechnology/Preble Shawnee) third place in Ohio
  • Jocelyn Hoggatt (Dental Assisting/Mississinawa Valley) third place Ohio Dental Science Contest
