MVCTC BPA Officer September Meeting

Englewood, Ohio - The Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) BPA Officer’s held their first meeting on September 12. The meeting included introductions of this year's officers along with BPA’s new theme, Torch Awards, a guest speaker, and a closing statement from Region 3 Advisor – Mrs. Watts.

The 2021-2022 BPA Officers are:

  • President – Cato Mayberry, Computer Networking & Cyber Security/Thurgood Marshall High School
  • Vice President – Raeven Raye-Redmond, Sports Management & Marketing/Trotwood-Madison
  • Secretary – Melanie Clement, Business Ownership/Franklin Monroe
  • Treasurer – Andrew Young, Computer Networking & Cyber Security/Huber Heights
  • Parliamentarian – Jeremiah Byrd, Computer Coding & Web Applications/Miamisburg
  • Historian – Trey McDonald, Computer Networking & Cyber Security/Vandalia-Butler

 

The BPA meeting kicked off with Raeven introducing the new officers, along with the BPA pledge. After the pledge Jeremiah announced BPA’s new theme, “Discover Your Purpose”.  BPA is all about professionalism and getting involved with the community. Students are rewarded for these acts through torch awards as explained by Raeven.

 

The next section of the meeting we introduced our guest speaker Chuck Thokey. Mr. Thokey is an alumnus of MVCTC and shared inspirational and motivating stories of finding your own success in life.  He is currently working with small, medium and large companies all over the country that are in need of coaching on different levels. Speaking at many different conferences and company events internationally on topics ranging from The Prospect's Experience, Strategic Closing, and Sales Leadership / Coaching.

 

The meeting came to a closing with Mrs. Watts (Region 3 Advisor), sharing information BPA and Region 3. After a final round of applause for the 2022-2023 BPA Officer’s for reinstating the importance of BPA for students entering the business world, the meeting ended with the Pledge of Allegiance.
