MVCTC Electives, Business, Information Technology, and Agriculture Department October Students of the Month Recognized

Englewood, Ohio – The Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Electives, Business, Information Technology, and Agriculture Department is proud to announce the October honorees for the Department's Career Tech Students of the Month. Xochitl Lozano-Licona (Mississinawa Valley) and Ally Sowers (Vandalia-Butler) recognized for being outstanding representatives of their career-technical programs.

Xochitl Lozano-Licona (Mississinawa Valley) is a senior in the Veterinary Science Program.  Xochitl currently serves as the Student Ambassador for Veterinary Science where she is active in fulfilling these duties with a positive image and an excellent knowledge of the programs and advantages of coming to MVCTC and attending these programs. Her instructor, Dr. Christa Nealeigh, stated, “Xochitl is also an excellent role model for other students as in the classroom she shows initiative, integrity and enthusiasm.”

Ally Sowers (Vandalia-Butler) is a senior in the Veterinary Science Program.  Ally is an outstanding student in the Veterinary Science Classroom and serves as a 2022-2023 MVCTC FFA Officer. Her instructor, Dr. Christa Nealeigh stated, “Ally is the ideal student who has an excellent work ethic. She is a student who frequently volunteers to perform tasks or skills when others do not volunteer.” Academically she has always maintained an A in the classroom. Ally also recently took the qualifying online CDE Animal Management Test and placed first in the State on that exam which demonstrates her career technical knowledge. As an Officer for FFA, Ally has been an active participant in meetings, camps, workshops, and retreats.

Congratulations to Xochitl and Ally for their outstanding representation of MVCTC and their respective programs. 

For over 50-years, MVCTC has provided career technical education for 27 partner school districts encompassing five counties, including Darke, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, and Warren counties. MVCTC is dedicated to providing in-demand workforce training for youth, adults, and organizations in the Miami Valley.
