Class of 2023 Senior Recognition Ceremony is Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at the Wright State University Nutter Center at 6:30 PM

  • The Class of 2023 Senior Recognition Ceremony is Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at the Wright State University Nutter Center at 6:30 PM. Doors will open at 5:15 PM. The ceremony will begin promptly at 6:30 PM.

     

    Parking and Directions: Students and guests should park in Lot #1 or Lot #2 and enter the gates nearest these lots (Gate 4 is handicap accessible). There are no limits to the number of people who may attend. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

    Additional Information: Students must have an approved graduation gown from their partner school district graduation, or they can speak to their MVCTC Counselor about borrowing an MVCTC gown for the ceremony. ​For safety reasons, students should not wear their graduation gowns until arriving at the Nutter Center. Additionally, graduation caps are not worn at the MVCTC Senior Recognition ceremony. Therefore, do not bring your graduation cap with you. 

     

    When students arrive at the Nutter Center, please meet in the McLin Gym on the ground floor at the back of the Nutter Center. Students should begin making their way to their seats by 6:10 PM. Students will be seated with their Career Technical Program and instructor on the floor of the Nutter Center.  

     

    Students arriving after the ceremony begins will not be admitted onto the floor and thus will not participate in the ceremony. Be on time!!!

     

    Staff will ensure students meet the dress requirements before granting permission to enter the floor. 

     

    Dress requirements: 

    The Senior Recognition ceremony is a formal “dress up” event. The dress code is as follows:

    Attire for male students: dress pants, dress shoes and socks, and a collared shirt. 

    Attire for female students: a dress shirt, dress skirt/pants, or a dress and appropriate dress shoes. 

  • No blue jeans or shorts!
  • Students may not decorate or deface their robes in any manner. 
  • Students who have received honor cords from the National Honor Society or the National Technical Honor Society are to wear them as their advisor and principal prescribe. These are the only cords permitted to be worn at the ceremony.
  • High-heeled shoes are not recommended due to the steps on the stage students will use when entering and exiting the stage.
  • Students are asked to show respect for their fellow classmates and guests.
  • Students are to be seated with their instructor(s) in their designated place.
  • Students are to remain seated until the ceremony is completed.
  • Only students and staff are permitted in the floor seating area.
  • Wright State University and MVCTC do not permit using horns, noisemakers, balloons, beach balls, confetti, silly string, etc., during the ceremony. Please assist both institutions in making the MVCTC Senior Recognition ceremony a special occasion by refraining from bringing these items. (WSU Security officers may confiscate these items)
