MVCTC Team Places First in State FFA Veterinary Science Contest

Englewood, Ohio- On April 19, 2023, students from the Veterinary Science class competed in the Ohio Veterinary Science CDE. The Veterinary Science CDE aims to assess the skills and knowledge that students must possess to prepare for post-secondary education and work in an animal health occupation, such as in a veterinarian’s office or in an animal research facility.

 

Team members include Ava Brown (Trotwood-Madison), Kylynn Hoover (Northmont), Dalton Hill (Miamisburg), Makinley Jarrett (National Trail), Veronica Dearth (Preble Shawnee), Robert Garza (Twin Valley South), Haley Roberts (Eaton), Harley Reffitt (Eaton), Bailey Denlinger (Brookville), Ryleigh Whittaker (Northmont), Hailey Crothers (New Lebanon), Tristen Lawson (Carlisle), Alexandria Sowers (Vandalia-Butler), and Lana Gray (Northmont). Congratulations, as this team finished first in the State Veterinary Science CDE and has qualified to travel to the National FFA Convention in the Fall and compete in the National Veterinary Science Contest.

 

The top four highest-placing students on the team were Lana Gray, who scored 170 and placed first overall! Lana will be recognized for this accomplishment at our State FFA Convention in May. The rest of the team included: Alexandria Sowers, who scored 156 and placed twelfth overall, and Tristen Lawson, who scored 153 and ranked twentieth overall. Hailey Crothers scored 139.5 and placed forty-third overall. Congratulations to all who participated! 

 

FFA continues to help the next generation rise up to meet those challenges by helping its members to develop their own unique talents and explore their interests in a broad range of agricultural career pathways. So today, we are still the Future Farmers of America. But we are the Future Biologists, Future Chemists, Future Veterinarians, Future Engineers, and Future Entrepreneurs of America.
