MVCTC Mourns Death of Long-time Supporter and School Board Member
Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) is saddened to learn of the passing of Board of Education President Mr. Joe (Zak) Idzakovich.
Mr. Idzakovich has served as the Miamisburg City Schools representative to the MVCTC School Board since 2008. He has served as either MVCTC Board of Education President or Vice-President for 13 years.
Mr. Idzakovich was committed to the Miamisburg community and the students and staff of MVCTC. He was a dedicated advocate for MVCTC and career-technical education. His leadership and support were essential to passing the 2017 Bond Issue that allowed for the expansion of MVCTC facilities and programming. Mr. Idzakovich routinely spoke on the first day back for staff and the Senior Recognition Ceremony, sharing an uplifting message of pride in the students and staff of MVCTC. Zak loved to end his speeches with ‘Proud to Be MVCTC!’ and we were extremely proud to have known Mr. Joe Idzakovich; he will be dearly missed as a friend, colleague, educational leader, and MVCTC Board Member.
The entire MVCTC staff is very thankful for Mr. Idzakovich’s service and extends our deepest sympathies to his wife, Nancy, his daughters Sara Jo, Rachel, and Liz, and the many others who loved him.
