Mississinawa Valley-MVCTC FFA Members Successful at Darke County Fair

The Great Darke County Fair was the week of August 18th through the 26th. The Mississinawa Valley-MVCTC FFA Chapter had many members showing as well as exhibiting shop and crop entries.

  • The chapter’s highest poultry placings were, Shelby Fennig - 3rd Overall Tom Turkey, Brooklynn Seubert - 2 points shy of overall showman, and Elliot Seubert - 1 place away from Overall Production.
  • In the swine barn the highest placings were, Thomas Gower - Grand Champion Tamworth Born and Bred, Bryson Gower - 2nd in his Market Hog Class, Paige Emrick - 2nd out of 12 in her Market Hog Class, Bryce Watson - 3rd in Showmanship.
  • Showing rabbits the highest placings were, Maia Wisner - Best of Breed-Holland Lops, Brooklynn Seubert - Best of Breed, and Allyson Waymire - 1st in Showmanship.
  • The highest cow placings in the chapter were, Emily Byram - 1st in her Homegrown Class, Brennan Manning - Champion Hereford and Supreme Breeding Heifer, Daniel Hartzell - Reserve Breeding Simmental, Rylie Alexander - Champion Heavyweight Hereford, Trevor Mulhenkamp - 3rd in Showmanship.
  • In the sheep barn, the highest placings were, Harley Hanes - Grand Champion Senior Showman, Caden Hanes - Champion Homegrown and 3rd Overall County Born and Bred, Aaron Hummel - Reserve in Division in Homegrown, Ava Hummel - Reserve in Division in Homegrown.
  • The highest placing in the chapter with horses were, JossLynne Thornhill - Grand Champion Barrel/Poles and Paytyn Heistand - 10.4 seconds in the Dash in Cash.

The Chapter received a Grade A on their booth located in the youth building, decorated with pictures and awards from throughout the year. The Chapter was also in charge of the Ag is Cool Tent where children could participate in agricultural crafts, and games and learn about ag safety.
