The Twin Valley South-MVCTC FFA Chapter had 20 members attend the 96th Annual National FFA Convention and Expo on November 1st-4th. On the first day, members visited the Exotic Feline Rescue Center in Center Point, Indiana. Members enjoyed an informational tour of the different felines at the facility. That evening consisted of ax throwing in downtown Indianapolis. On day two, members attended the 1st and 2nd General Sessions and explored the Expo Center. In the evening, students attended the Buckeye Bash, which included cornhole, dancing, trampoline, food, and a fire at Kelsay Farms. On Friday, members participated in the National Day of Service. They traveled to a Midwest food bank to make bags of baby cereal and fill boxes with apples and canned items for those in need in Indianapolis. That evening was the annual Three Hills Rodeo - FFA edition. The rodeo had bulls, trick horses, bareback, and saddle bronco riding. Concluding the trip was the 6th session of the convention recognizing American Degree recipients. 2021 Twin Valley South graduate Mackenzie Neal received her American Degree among the other 457 recipients. Mackenzie’s SAEs of working at Smith Acres Farm and showing her market steers at the Preble County Fair helped her reach the qualifications for the degree. Congratulations Mackenzie! Special thank you to our alumni for helping support our trip! Members had a great time learning about the importance of agriculture.
