Animal Care and Management program participates in Aquarium Management Contest
Students from the Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Animal Care and Management program showcased their expertise and passion for aquarium management at the Ohio State Fairgrounds on November 14, 2023, participating in the highly competitive Aquarium Management CDE (Career Development Event). The event, designed to evaluate students' knowledge of fish-keeping trends and practical application of skills in the aquarium industry, saw remarkable achievements from the MVCTC team.
Students participating in the Aquarium Management CDE include:

- Aspen Craig (Tri-County North)
- Scott Darrell (Vandalia-Butler)
- Kierra Evans (Vandalia-Butler)
- Kianna Farmer (Arcanum-Butler)
- Rozalynn Hardin (New Lebanon)
- Patricia Jurich (Milton-Union)
- Mya Keith (Trotwood-Madison)
- Joseph McAlpin (Northridge)
- Cohen Morris (Carlisle)
- Madigan Stover (Huber Heights)
- Heather Strider (Carlisle)
- Cheila Tolle (Brookville)
The MVCTC team demonstrated exceptional knowledge, teamwork, and practical skills, earning them a well-deserved second-place finish out of twenty competing teams.
Individual achievements were also recognized, with the following students ranking among the top performers:
- Heather Strider: Third place with a score of one-hundred sixty.
- Aspen Craig: Tenth place with a score of one-hundred forty-two.
- Rozalynn Hardin: Seventeenth place with a score of one-hundred thirty-one.
Congratulations to the MVCTC students for their success. The experience gained through participating in such competitions prepares students for future careers in the animal care and management industry.
