January 2024 MVCTC Satellite Program Updates

Eaton-MVCTC PLTW Satellite Program:

The sixth-grade Career Connections class designed, built, and raced rubber band cars. Students practiced career skills such as collaboration, communication, and problem-solving to build their cars. Riley Ashworth is pictured preparing to launch her team’s car.

Mississinawa Valley-MVCTC BPA Students Holiday Spirit: Mrs. Drew’s BPA students won the door-decorating contest at Mississinawa Valley. The theme was the Polar Express. The students made the door stand out with a train, train tracks, lights, and music.

National Trail-MVCTC FFA Advisors Honored by Local Chamber of Commerce: Congratulations to the FFA team of Eric and Carmen Kennel on their nomination and selection by the New Paris Chamber for Teacher of the Year!

Business Communications class at Northmont High School:  Students at Northmont spent the first semester of their senior year working hard on earning credentials to qualify for high school graduation. We are proud to say that all 22 students earned three industry-recognized credentials! The students worked through the OSHA 10 program in their fields of interest. Then, they studied the National Retail Foundation Rise Up curriculum in Retail Fundamentals and Customer Sales & Service. The class was taught by MVCTC Adult Education Coordinator Amy Wittmann, with the assistance of Dwayne Henderson, a Northmont sub and grad student. Congratulations on a job well done!
