Congratulations to the Class of 2024. We are so proud of your accomplishments!

Class of 2024 Senior Recognition Ceremony is Friday, May 17, 2024, at 6:30 pm at the University of Dayton Arena, 1801 South Edwin C. Moses, Dayton, Ohio 45417.

Arrival and Entry:

  • All guests are to enter through the north or south entrance doors.
  • Depending on their program, seniors will gather in the arena's east or west concourse areas by 6:00 pm with their gowns on.
  • Students arriving after the ceremony begins will not be admitted onto the floor and thus will not participate in the ceremony. Be on time!!!
  • All seniors and guests will go through metal detectors at each entrance of UD Arena. To expedite entry, please leave purses and bags at home. Prohibited items include weapons of any kind, pocket knives, noisemakers, laser pointers, signs, food, drinks, tripods, balloons, pets, etc.
  • Doors will open for general seating at 5:30 p.m.; please be seated by 6:15 p.m. No tickets will be required for entrance. We ask that all guests dress appropriately for this special ceremony, honoring our seniors' accomplishments.

Additional Information for Students and Guests:

  • The Miami Valley Career Technology Center Senior Recognition ceremony will be conducted with dignity and respect. Seniors and guests are reminded that the ceremony is a formal ceremony.
  • Any senior who disrupts or contributes in any way to the disruption of normal operation during the final days of the school year will be subject to disciplinary action, including, but not limited to, removal and/or denial of participation in the Senior Recognition ceremony. This includes any and all senior pranks. Any senior participating in or contributing to inappropriate behavior during the Senior Recognition ceremony will be removed from the ceremony by an administrator or UD Arena Security, with the possibility of legal action being taken.
  • For safety reasons, students should not put on robes until they arrive in the arena's concourse area.
  • Students should begin making their way from the concourse areas to their seats no later than 6:10 p.m.
  • Staff will be available to ensure students meet the dress requirements outlined below before being granted permission to enter the floor.
  • Students must have an approved graduation gown (the same gown that they will wear at their partner school for those graduating with their class) to participate in the ceremony. Students who will not graduate at their partner school must see their MVCTC counselor to arrange an MVCTC gown for the Senior Recognition ceremony. Graduation caps are not worn at the MVCTC Senior Recognition ceremony. Do not bring your graduation cap with you.
  • The Senior Recognition ceremony is a formal “dress up” event.
    • Students are to wear business professional attire under their gowns.
    • Jeans, shorts, and tennis shoes are not permitted.
    • Students are not to decorate or deface their robes in any manner.
    • Gowns must remain completely zipped for the duration of the ceremony.
    • Graduation caps are not worn at the ceremony.
    • Because students may walk long distances to and from their seats and will be navigating steps, we recommend they wear comfortable dress shoes and discourage them from wearing high-heeled shoes in an effort to prevent falls.
  • Students who have received honor cords from the National Honor Society and/or the National Technical Honor Society are to wear them as their advisor and principal prescribes. These are the only cords permitted to be worn at the ceremony.
  • Students are to show respect for their classmates and guests.
  • Students are to be seated with their instructor(s) in their designated place.
  • Students are to remain seated until the ceremony is complete.
  • Only students and staff are permitted on the floor.
  • The University of Dayton and MVCTC do not permit using horns, noisemakers, balloons, beach balls, confetti, silly string, etc., in the facility. Please assist both institutions in making the MVCTC Senior Recognition ceremony a special occasion by refraining from bringing these items. (UD Arena Security officers will confiscate these items)
