96th Ohio FFA Convention Celebrates Student Achievements and Recognizes Outstanding Contributions

Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) students attended the 96th Ohio FFA Convention.  

  • Ben Sonnanstine (Natural Resource Management/Tipp City) was recognized for his job placement through Sunrise Cooperative. 
  • Abi Stanoikovich (Veterinary Science/Brookville) opened the convention with a stirring rendition of the National Anthem.
  • Addison Campbell (Ag & Livestock Production/Eaton) represented the MVCTC FFA chapter for the FFA Charitable Giving recognition, emphasizing the importance of giving back to the community.

Keynote speakers Krista Simpson Anderson, Luke Jennings, and Morris Morrison captivated the audience with their insights and experiences, motivating FFA members to pursue their passions and positively impact the world.

In addition to engaging sessions and inspiring speeches, students had the opportunity to explore various agricultural enterprises through field trips to the Franklin Conservatory, the East Market, Anthony Thomas Candies, and the North Market. These hands-on experiences enriched their understanding of the diverse aspects of agriculture and its importance in our daily lives.

The convention also recognized the outstanding achievements of FFA teams and individuals. Congratulations to the following students:

  • Maya Beam (Veterinary Science/Tipp City ) 1st in the State Individual for Animal Behavior, Welfare, and Husbandry Career Development Event
  • Natalie Gregory (Veterinary Science/Vandalia-Butler) 3rd place in the Animal Systems Division 5
  • Kameron Workman (Veterinary Science/Miami East) 4th place in Animal Systems Division 5 
  • Emma Munroe (Veterinary Science/Tipp City) and Lexi Rogers (Veterinary Science/Miamisburg) for placing 2nd in Animal SciencesDivision 6
  • Ava Brown (Veterinary Science/Trotwood-Madison) and Cole Garza (Veterinary Science/Twin Valley South)3rd in Animal Sciences Division 6. 
  • Joy Williamson (Veterinary Science/Miamisburg) and Riann Johnson (Veterinary Science/Carlisle) 4th place in Animal Sciences Division 6
  • Griffen Jung (Natural Resource Management/Miamisburg) and Elli Earwood (Natural Resource Management/Franklin Monroe) 2nd-place Agriscience Fair Division 6  
  • Sean Trogdon (Natural Resource Management/Arcanum-Butler) and Devin Craport (Natural Resource Management/Arcanum-Bulter) 3rd-place Agriscience Fair Division 6

 MVCTC FFA Officers were recognized for their work this school year, earning Gold Ratings.  

  • Aspen Craig (Animal Care & Management/Tri-County North)- Chapter Secretary
  • Danielle Warner (Veterinary Science/Valley View) - Chapter Treasurer
  • Kailee Hollinger (Veterinary Science/Tri-County North) - Chapter Reporter

The convention also honored State FFA Degree recipients, the highest award bestowed by the State FFA association. Among the recipients were
