MVCTC students recently shared their passion and expertise with younger students during two engaging career exploration events:
Bethel Elementary “Food to Plate” Presentations
On Thursday, April 17, MVCTC students visited Bethel Elementary School to support the second-grade “Food to Plate” unit, inspired by The Vegetables We Eat by Gail Gibbons. About 115 second-grade students learned how food travels from the farm to their plates, with hands-on activities connecting the process to real-world careers:
The Farm – Kaiden Click (Carlisle) & Aubrey Hofferbert (Brookville), Agriculture & Livestock Production
Transportation – Ethan Osswald (National Trail) & Michael Riley (Vandalia-Butler), Diesel Power Technologies
Cooking – Makai Kincaid (Vandalia-Butler) & Lauren Homan (Miamisburg), Culinary Arts
Healthy Eating – Alexa Hampton-Izor (Brookville) & Domino Watts (Bethel), Sports Medicine
Nutrition & Health – Ava Duncan (Eaton) & Victoria Webster (West Carrollton), Medical Lab Assisting
Northmont High School Career Fair
On Friday, April 25, MVCTC Student Ambassadors participated in the Northmont High School Career Fair, connecting with over 2,000 students in grades 8–12. These ambassadors proudly represented MVCTC and their career-technical programs:
Braedon Dresnek (Northmont) – Auto Technology
Jenna Hall (Northmont) – Biotechnology
Connor Slentz (Northmont) – Pre-Engineering
These outreach efforts are a great example of MVCTC students becoming role models while promoting career awareness and pathways across grade levels.
