Mississinawa Valley - MVCTC FFA Chapter Hosts 8th Grade Recruitment Day

03/11/2013
The Mississinawa Valley-MVCTC FFA held an eighth grade recruitment day for all eighth graders in the school district on February 14th, 2013. The purpose of this activity was to educate the eighth graders about what the Agricultural Education Department and FFA Chapter at MV does and what potential classes they can take next year as they enter high school. The eighth grader students went around to 5 different sessions and got to participate in activities surrounding general topic areas they might learn about while in Ag class throughout their high school career. The students spent the first half of the day in the Ag Building learning about mechanics, food science, animal science, FFA, and plant and soil science. The FFA chapter sponsored a lunch consisting of Papa John’s Pizza. After lunch, the students spent an hour playing games. The games helped to work on creativity, leadership, and team building skills. The students left with a better understanding about Ag Ed and FFA.
